Probability Field

The evolving distribution of possible future states generated by existing structure.

A Probability Field is the structured range of futures that can emerge from what already exists.

Those futures are not equally available. Existing structure, position, constraint and relation make some outcomes more likely, others less likely, and some effectively unreachable from the present state.

As Reality changes, the Field changes with it.

A new technology can alter what a company is capable of. A political decision can change the options available to a country. A person's health, skills, resources and relationships shape what remains possible from their present position.

The Probability Field is not a prediction of one fixed outcome.

It is the weighted landscape of what may happen next.

As structures interact, possibilities are strengthened, weakened or closed. When one outcome becomes real, that consequence becomes part of the structure shaping the next Field.

The practical question is simple:

Given what exists now, what futures are becoming more or less possible?

That is the Probability Field.
