Mass

Mass describes how strongly a structure can change what happens next.

It is not a single resource. Mass can arise from capital, energy, knowledge, technology, coordination, authority, infrastructure, access, trust or position.

Different structures carry different forms of Mass.

Mass is always relative to the Field in which a structure is acting.

A government may carry significant Mass over law and infrastructure while having little capacity inside a specialised scientific problem. A small group of researchers may carry little political influence but determine whether a critical technical problem can be solved.

Status and visibility can indicate Mass, but they do not define it.

A structure may appear powerful while depending on systems it does not control. Another may remain largely unseen while occupying a position from which one decision materially changes what follows.

Mass can increase, transfer or decay. Capital accumulates. Knowledge compounds. Trust can be built or lost. Infrastructure expands capability. Position changes as the surrounding Field changes.

The practical question is simple:

What can this structure make real that would otherwise remain unlikely?

That is its Mass.
